COOKING HELP!!! PLZZZ!!! (chicken broth)?

okay so i am making gumbo tonight for dinner, and it turns out i only gotten 4 cups of chicken broth and it asks for 9!!!! what should i do?? would water work? please make any extra ingrediants i can use something that would be in the pantry or something. thanks so much! :)
