Question about the movie the shining?

in the end of the movie when jack nicholsons wife knocks him out and locks him in the food pantry, how does he raelly get out? in the movie it was the guy named grady the supposedly let him out but grady was just in jack nicholsons mind and he wasnt real to anybody else. so how did he really get out since grady wasnt real so he couldnt have been there to let him out?
